Greetings Lost Adventurers!

As of several hours ago, the fourth stretch goal poll has officially closed! For those interested, 939 backers participated in the fourth stretch poll. Below is the FOURTH backer-voted stretch goal poll set + boss concepts that are now going to be included:

Stretch Goal #11 Poll Winner

Stretch Goal #11 (with 19.4% of the votes) - and winner by 3 votes...

Stretch Goal Boss Monster #5 Winner Concept

Boss Monster #5 (with 32.1% of the votes)

While no new sets have been added this unlock, I want to share that we're still working as fast as we can to add more stretch goal sets as the campaign continues on.

Just like with the first four stretch goal polls, "All-In" backers will receive a message with a link to the poll - and a backer-only update will also be linked for those who back after the message is sent so they can vote. Expect that message and update shortly!

Once again: THANK YOU for your amazing support, enthusiasm, and comments. We couldn't do this without you!

Big hug from me and the rest of the team,

Printing Battlemaps: A How-To Guide
over 4 years ago – Sat, Aug 17, 2019 at 12:36:40 AM

Hey everyone, Nick here with a quick update on how to print battlemaps. Apologies for all the confusion but I hope this update will alleviate some of the issues everyone was having.

First, the sample encounter folder has been updated to include a number of additional files and they have all been moved into a folder labeled "Battlemap".

Inside of that folder you will find the following files:

  • The original JPEG version of the battlemap
  • A PDF version of the battlemap
  • A PDF version of the battlemap, pre-cut for Letter Paper
  • A PDF version of the battlemap, pre-cut for A4 Paper

Simply download the PDF with the pre-cut files that fit your paper of choice and you should be ready to go. All pages are labeled and have cut-lines already on them.

However, if you want to know how to print your own or want to modify the values used to cut the files, please continue down below for a quick guide on cutting and printing your own battlemaps via Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader.

Printing Battlemaps - Adobe Reader

To print your battlemap via Adobe Reader, you'll need to download the OwlBearEncounter-ForestGlen.pdf.

Once you have the file downloaded, open it up in Adobe Reader and follow along below:

  • Via the File menu in the top left, go down to Print; You can also press CTRL+P to bring up the print dialogue
  • Under Page Sizing & Handling, you should see an option for Poster; Click that option to bring up the poster options for printing the map across multiple pages. See image below for what you should see
  • Once you are happy with your settings, click Print in the bottom right corner

TL;DR - Watch the GIF below.

Printing Battlemaps - Foxit Reader

Foxit Reader is a free alternative to Adobe Reader and my personal PDF Reader of choice. I find that it tends to use less paper to print the same size battlemaps and it doesn't tax my system as much as Adobe Reader does.

To print your battlemap via Foxit Reader, you'll need to download the OwlBearEncounter-ForestGlen.pdf

Once you have the file downloaded, open it up in Foxit Reader and follow along below:

  • Via the File menu in the top left, go down to Print; You can also press CTRL+P to bring up the print dialogue
  • Under Print Handling, click on Tile Large Pages and then adjust your settings as you please. See image below for what you should see
  • Once you are happy with your settings, click OK in the bottom right corner

A Note on Additional PDF Readers

Obviously, there are A LOT of PDF Readers out there and I simply covered the two that I am most familiar with. Almost all PDF readers will have some sort of option similar to the ones detailed above, you may just have to look around within the options to find it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to leave a comment on this update and I'll do my best to assist.

Thanks for the support everyone and I hope you enjoy your new battlemaps!
